Intraline threads are crafted from polydioxanone (PDO), a highly safe and biocompatible material commonly used in medical procedures, including heart surgery, to promote cell cohesion. PDO is a reabsorbable, sterile material that minimises the risk of allergic reactions, making it a reliable choice for aesthetic treatments. The technical specifications include a 29G needle, a total thread length of 70mm, and 6-0 PDO threads. Each foil pack contains 20 threads, with 2 sets of 10 individually sterilized Tyvek packs for enhanced safety and convenience.
These threads are smooth and free of barbs, designed to be inserted into specific points on the face or scalp. Their primary function is to tighten the skin and provide a subtle lift.
The threads are half-folded and equipped with ultra-thin, sharp needles, which ensures a smooth and natural-looking result. They are strategically anchored to realign and lift sagging or drooping dermal tissue.
The thoughtful design of the needles and stoppers enhances the stability and durability of the results post-procedure. Polydioxanone is a clinically approved material, underscoring its safety and reliability for aesthetic treatments.
Before undergoing the procedure, a medical evaluation might be necessary. Discuss thoroughly with a clinician before they buy INTRALINE products for your procedure. Certain medications, like aspirin or anti-inflammatory drugs, may need to be reduced or paused. It’s also recommended to avoid smoking, alcohol, and certain herbal supplements to decrease the risk of bleeding when applying threads and sutures.
Recovery after a thread lift is quick, with most patients returning to their regular activities within a week. However, patients are advised to follow their practitioner’s guidelines for optimal recovery and results. These include:
Mild side effects like redness, swelling, bruising, small pinprick marks, or slight puckering at the entry sites may occur but typically resolve within 2 weeks. In rare instances, very thin skin may reveal sutures before they fully dissolve, or temporary dimpling of the skin might happen, generally clearing within 5 days.
Not everyone is an ideal candidate for PDO thread lifts. This treatment is contraindicated for those who:
