Restylane 1ml main ingredients and device properties

Restylane 1 ml contains hyaluronic acid stabilised through NASHA™ technology and cross-linked with BDDE to ensure durability and safety. 

Key ingredients are:

• Hyaluronic acid – 20 mg/ml
• Cross-linking agent (BDDE for gel stabilisation)
• Phosphate buffered saline (maintains pH stability needed for safe and effective injections).

• 1 x 1 pre-filled syringe
• 2 x 29G ½” needles

Optimal storage instructions

Keep Restylane 1ml stored at a temperature between 2°C and 25°C. Do not expose the product to direct sunlight, excessive heat, or freezing. 

Mode of administration

Restylane 1ml can only be used by trained medical professionals. 

Preparation:

• Ensure aseptic conditions during the treatment.
• Check for product integrity (no separation or cloudiness).

Injection:

• Use the sterile needles provided with the product. 
• Recommended injection techniques are linear threading or serial puncture.
• Inject into the mid-to-deep dermis for wrinkle correction and into a submucosal layer for lips. 

Dosage: 

• Inject up to 1.5 ml per session for lip treatment.
• Do not exceed 6 ml per patient in one session when treating nasolabial folds.

Post-treatment care

To achieve the best possible results, patients should adhere to these post-treatment recommendations: 

• Minimise UV exposure and use sunscreen.
• Do not apply makeup in the next 12 hours.
• Avoid extreme temperatures in the next 48 hours. 

Potential side effects

Restylane 1ml is usually well-tolerated by patients, but you need to be aware of certain reactions that might occur. 

Common side effects:

• Bruising and tenderness at the injection site.
• Localised redness and swelling (normally subsides within 7 days for nasolabial folds and up to 14 days for lips).

Rare reactions (generally caused by improper administration): 

• Delayed inflammatory reactions
• Superficial necrosis
• Papules or granulomas
• Hypersensitivity

Contraindications for the treatment

Restylane 1ml is not suitable for the following groups of patients: 

• Individuals under the age of 18.
• Patients with severe allergies.  
• Patients with known hypersensitivity to hyaluronic acid or gram-positive bacterial proteins. 
• Individuals with bleeding disorders.
• Patients with inflammatory skin conditions or infections in the treatment area.
